Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

1. Overview

Custom West Ltd has over 30 years’ experience in supplying quality made to measure window dressings to business customers.

Custom West recognises that it has a responsibility to take a committed approach to slavery and human trafficking pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act of 2015, and is committed to taking all reasonable steps to mitigate slavery and human trafficking in its activities and supply chains.  All of our products are purchased from a sister company based in the UK, who has published their own anti-slavery statement, and we are comfortable with the steps that they have taken.

This statement relates the financial year ended 2020 and covers the period from 1 January to 31 December 2020.

2. Policy and procedures

Our guidelines for our employees are based on the principles outlined in the following documents:

  • Employee Code of Conduct
  • UN Declaration on Human Rights
  • Relevant International Labour Organisation (ILO) guidelines
  • Whistleblowing policy

Our workers are all free to join trade unions and the Works Council. We have dedicated HR and supply-chain teams to facilitate any employee issues and to audit suppliers. The organisation's whistleblowing procedure is designed to make it easy for workers to make disclosures, without fear of retaliation.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Day Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the Custom West’s Slavery and Human Trafficking statement for the current financial year.  It was approved by the Board of Directors on 9 June 2020, and will be reviewed for suitability at least annually.
